We’ve compiled a handful of your most common questions and concerns and answered them here for you! How long does grease trap cleaning take?

The length of time it takes to clean your kitchen and tank heavily depends on the size! If you have a larger than average kitchen and tank, it will take our professional staff approximately just over an hour to complete a full comprehensive cleaning service for your kitchen and tank. If your equipment and space is small to average, you can expect us to be finished in about one hour.

When is the best time for my restaurant to get a grease trap cleaning?

Of course, you don’t want a cleaning service to interrupt your productivity during the day – and we don’t want that either! That’s why A Cambie offers cleaning services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to meet your needs anytime. Given our 24/7 availability, it is recommended that you schedule your cleaning appointment to be completed before your restaurant opens, or after closing hours. Keep in mind that the service will take approximately one hour to complete, depending on the size of your kitchen.

How often should my kitchen drain and tank get cleaned?

For the most efficient kitchen equipment, it’s best to get professional grease cleaning every month. This will ensure that your kitchen is in tip-top shape maintenance-wise, and can help prevent damage and the need for repairs in the future. If once a month cleanings just aren’t in your budget, that’s okay! Once every 3 months at the very least will also do the job.

Why should I clean my tank or drain every month?

Because your tank and drain get a lot of usages, it’s common for food and grease to accumulate and create an unwanted build up or blockage. Eventually, water will not be able to freely flow through to the sewage, which can cause a back up into your kitchen. Serious sanitation issues can arise and your entire plumbing system may be in jeopardy if this happens. That’s why we always recommend that restaurant owners get their tanks and drains thoroughly and professionally cleaned every month. Regular maintenance ensures safety for your staff and, in the long run, saves you from expensive repairs down the road. In the case that your grease trap is no longer functional, A Cambie in Richmond also provides installations of new grease traps.
